Our beer and us.

We established Whitstable Brewery in 2003 out of a desire for independently brewed quality beer, something that was somewhat of a rarity at the time in Kent. Since then we have brewed a broad range of styles, initially focussing on traditional session strength beers such as bitters and golden ales and more recently expanding and diversifying our brewing to include more modern styles such as experimental IPAs and fruited beers.

We love our coastal town of Whitstable and all of it’s unique aspects and attractions. The sights, flavours, sounds and smells of Whitstable provide us with our inspiration for our beer recipes, whether it be our famous Oyster Stout brewed with over 1000 whole whitstable oysters, or ‘Sundowner’ our easy drinking pale designed to accompany Whitstable’s glorious sunsets. An aspect of Whitstable is reflected in each and every one of our beers.

    A session strength lager brewed with Kentish hops. Crisp, bready and easy drinking.

  • Oyster Stout 4.5%

    Our famous stout brewed with over 1000 whole Whitstable oysters. Notes of dark chocolate, coffee, raisin and a gentle salinity.

  • Wrack & Ruin 6%

    A juicy New England IPA showcasing an ever changing line up of exciting modern hops.

  • Aw, Shucks! 4%

    A session hazy pale ale heavily hopped with the all time great combo of Citra and Mosaic.

Seasonals and one-off brews

  • Pincher Claw 7.2%

    Brewed for our 20th, Pincher Claw is a classic WC IPA brewed with orange peel and a smorgasbord of classic and modern US hops.

  • Crusher Claw 8.2%

    Brewed for our 20th anniversary, Crusher Claw is a juicy Double IPA brewed with heaps of toasted coconut and double helpings of Citra, Sabro and El Dorado hops.

  • Wit-stable 4.7%

    Our American Wit-Bier is brewed with crushed coriander seeds, orange peel and amarilo and citra hops for a modern take on a classic style.

  • Native v2 3.8%

    A copper coloured best bitter brewed with a blend of UK malts and hops.

  • Trestle Beer 3.4%

    Our table pale ale is brewed lots of oats and wheat along with New England yeast and heaps of juicy hops to create a beer that doesn’t skimp on flavour despite its low abv.

  • Cormorant IPA 6%

    Our interpretation of a Cali IPA, brewed with light malts and Citra, Loral and Simcoe hops to create an exceedingly easy drinking golden IPA.

  • Kick his ass, Seabass! 5.3%

    A tribute to the American pale ales that inspired us and so many others. A blend of malts and classic US hops create a deep orange beer with notes of citrus peel and pine.

  • Sea Foam 5.2%

    An amber IPA brewed with a mix of experimental UK hops and classic US hops. Notes of hedgerow berry, orange marmalade and wholemeal bread cut with a refreshing citrus bitter finish.

    An American Red Ale brewed with crystal & rye malts and moderately hopped with classic US hops Colubus and Chinook for notes of caramel, citrus zest and pine.
